I'm actually really over social media.


I've been wanting to turn it off for a long time. I just didn't think it was something I could possibly do while running a photography business. I don't like posting and I get too emotionally invested in what other people post. The other day I looked back at the form submissions I had from my website where it says "How did you hear about Piper Crowe Photography?" In the last three years, 98% of people who answered that responded with "referral, a friend, word of mouth, or I know so and so" and that was enough for me. I wasn't made for this era. Keeping up with the algorithms and being seen by people on social media is a job of it's own. Not one for me. Photographer is my title, not content creator. So here we are.


There have been a few moments that I thought I wanted to share something. Easy fix. I print photos for my fridge and it's filling up fast. Our grandparents each have an Aura frame. My whole family is really good about sharing photos on that which is so fun. Our own private social media. I know I have a website that I could pour more energy into. And lastly, if there's someone specific I wanted to share a photo with, they just get a personal text. Omitting social media has actually made me a more social person. Who would have thought!


Will I post here often? Probably not. I'm most likely going to be busy reading to my two year old or sipping coffee with my mom.


Anyways, I thought to share some of my favorite personal photos I've taken this summer on my own online real estate. These might be my favorite film scans I've ever gotten back. 35mm on my beloved Canon EOS 3. I'm pretty new to film still. I've ruined a whole bunch of rolls, not many photos have come out until now and it's making me feel all sorts of giddy.
